It is no secret that it has been years of struggle for Souljah trying to make it on his own doing what he loves to do in music. Even though he has been in and out of the music scene, it is his fundamental passion for music-making that kept his hand in touch with it. A native of Toronto, this artist of Jamaican descent moved to Vancouver in the mid-1990s. During that time, he met the members of Brougham Camp and became part of the family. In 2002, he took part in the recording of The Empire Strikes album. These days, Souljah is working on several projects which focus on his reggae style. He is also onboard Brougham’s Enter The Temple demo.
Souljah is a dynamic artist that is hard to classify. When he steps up to the microphone, his potent talent possesses the kind of originality and vision to back it all up. He continues to drop the raw uncut every time he spits, finding ways to stir up his rhymes with some Jamaican and Spanish. His armory of rhymes is diverse, versatile, and multicultural.
